Joint Forum with Indian Museum, JC Bose Memorial Trust

AusHeritage, Australia’s international network for cultural heritage, and the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH) today signed an MoU in Kolkata to further enhance cooperation in the preservation, promotion and management of cultural heritage.

The Hindu – Second Australian gallery removes stolen Indian artefact from display – 2 April 2014

A second Australian art gallery has removed a centuries-old statue from display after a written request from the Indian government to return the artefact. This was after allegations that the statue was stolen from an ancient site in India and sold by an Indian art dealer on trial in Chennai for smuggling antiquities.

Rosaiah on February 28, 2014 in Chennai, The ASTRA (Association of Soft Skills Trainers) Service Excellence Award 2014 was awarded to AusHeritage Chairman and India Vision Institute CEO Mr Vinod Daniel for sustainable contribution to the field of Human Resource Development and Human Resource Management relating to his work on “ Cultural Heritage and Blindness Prevention”.

Culture industry contributes $86 billion a year to Australian GDP – 13 Feb 2014

Australia’s creative and cultural industries contribute more than $86 billion annually to the national economy – more than the transport industry or welfare sector – the first research of its kind by the Australian Bureau of Statistics has revealed.

In the welcome address of the 48th meeting of ASEAN-COCI, the Permanent Secretary, Brunei Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports, Haji Mohd Rozan bin Dato Paduka Hj Mohd Yunos said that the culture and information sectors in Southeast Asia need to do more to build an ASEAN identity.
