Following the visit to the Museum of Islamic Arts Malaysia based in Kuala Lumpur by the 2019 AusHeritage Delegation to Malaysia and Singapore, it was proposed to establish a Memorandum of Understanding between both organisations.
This was signed on 29th January 2019 by Dr Friedrich Zink – Head of the Museum’s Conservation and Research Centre – and Graham Ormsby – AusHeritage Treasurer. It was signed in the presence of the Second Secretary to Australia’s High Commission in Malaysia – Katelyn Hornby – and staff of the Museum.
Dr. Zink noted potential future projects with AusHeritage to include the consideration of the environmental controls of museums. Ms. Hornby commented on the High Commission’s strong ongoing support for both organisations.
