EK Nayanar Memorial Museum, Kerala inauguration

Vinod Daniel (Chair AusHeritage) at the opening of the EK Nayanar Memorial Museum in Kerala, India. With the Chief Minister of Kerala Mr Pinarayi Vijayan and several Ministerial colleagues. Vinod has been involved in developing this museum along with several Indian organisations.

Party state secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said the museum, set up at Nayanar Academy, will be a hybrid one which will have audio-visual and digital facilities and traditional displays. It will have four main galleries: orientation theatre, a gallery focusing on the history of CPM, one featuring the agitations carried out by the party including Moraya, Karivallur, Kayyur and Punnapra-Vayalar. The fourth gallery will be dedicated to former CM EK Nayanar and will showcase his life along with the leaders who attended the founding meeting of the party like P Krishna Pillai, EMS, NC Sekhar and K Damodaran. Also on display will be the silicon statues of AK Gopalan and Nayanar.


The museum is designed by Magic Tail Works, a firm led by director and scriptwriter Shankar Ramakrishnan and Vinod Menon. Vinod Daniel, board member, International Council of Museums, is also assisting this endeavour. The high-tech facilities, which will be part of the museum, will include audio facilities by Harman JBL, LED wall, touch screen and displays. An AI-based hologram of EK Nayanar was installed by Indian subsidiary of Australian firm Euclideon
