About the CPD Talk:
Jennifer Lang recently completed the UNESCO Chair Programme on Cultural Heritage and Risk Management (Ritsumeikan University, Japan), in cooperation with ICCROM – a seven-week International Training Course on Disaster Risk Management of Cultural Heritage, where she developed a Disaster Risk Management plan for The University of Hong Kong’s University Museum and Art Gallery housed in the Fung Ping Shan Building. In this talk, Jennifer will share insights about the course, current disaster risk management practice related to cultural heritage, and Hong Kong’s readiness to accommodate for such future events considering rapidly escalating climate change in the world.
About the Speaker:
Dr. Jennifer Lang
Jennifer Lang is an architectural historian and conservationist with over 30 years of professional experience in built-heritage conservation in Asia and the United States including academia, environmental review, and regulation. Currently, she is the Director of the MSc(Conservation) program at The University of Hong Kong where she directs and teaches graduate students in architectural conservation.
