On Friday, 27 June 2003, AusHeritage in association with Austrade held a half-day seminar at the New South Wales Department of State and Regional Development, Grosvenor Place, Sydney, on the exporting potential of Australia’s cultural heritage services. It presented a dynamic environment for AusHeritage members currently working in cultural heritage management in neighbouring regions to meet with industry representatives engaged in project tendering and implementation.
AusHeritage held the Conserving Living Culture Symposium in Adelaide at the Adelaide University Union Building, Adelaide University, North Terrace on 6 December, 2002. The symposium brought together a diverse range of experts to explore ways of conserving living cultural heritage.

Two significant Memoranda of Understanding have been agreed in 2002 between AusHeritage and the ASEAN Committee on Culture and Information (ASEAN-COCI) and with the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH). Two significant Memoranda of Understanding have been agreed in 2002 between AusHeritage and the ASEAN Committee on Culture and Information (ASEAN-COCI) and with the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage (INTACH).
AusHeritage and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Committee on Culture and Information (COCI) have now signed the Memorandum of Understanding that will allow both organisations to benefit from each other’s expertise and ultimately improve conservation and promotion of cultural heritage in the region.
Following a number of AusHeritage missions to Vietnam and the involvement of Guy Petherbridge in chairing the UNESCO Memory of the World Programme Workshop on the Preservation of and Access to South East Asia Documentary Heritage, hosted by the Vietnam National Centre for Scientific and Technological Information and Documentation (NACESTID) in cooperation with UNESCO‘s Bangkok Office, in Hanoi on 4-8 February 2002, AusHeritage was requested to facilitate an official visit of the State Archives Department of Vietnam to study the preservation technology, design and construction of archival facilities in Australia.
