Heritage management experts from Australia, Hong Kong and Macau met in Hong Kong to explore collaboration in cultural heritage.
Working together to sustain regional cultural diversity

The three day symposium at Yangon was the culmination of negotiation and planning by AusHeritage Board members in association with Myanmar representatives of ASEAN COCI.

The forum was held at the St Lucia Campus of the University of Queensland on 22 July 2005. Speakers included Ian Cook – former Director of Artlab, SA and AusHeritage member; Associate Professor Paul Memmott – Director- Aboriginal Environments Research Centre(AERC), University of Queensland and AusHeritage member; Dr Ian Galloway – Director, Queensland Museum and President ICOM Australia; Jane Lennon AM – member of the Australian Heritage Council and past Australian representative of ICCROM.
Working within the Asia Pacific region involves an engagement with a diverse array of cultural, linguistic, spiritual, political, legislative and religious factors across the arenas of both tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
Australia and China to collaborated on cultural heritage preservation and management.
Heritage management experts from Australia and China are met in Beijing, November 11-14, 2008 to share heritage conservation expertise and explore future collaborative possibilities. The nine member Australian heritage delegation represented the broad spectrum of cultural heritage management and practice.
