AusHeritage submits proposal on the development of an Australian National Cultural Policy to the Minister for the Arts, the Hon Peter Garrett, AM MP
AusHeritage has been invited by the Penang Heritage Trust to work on conservations strategies for World Heritage listed Penang Island. The PHT have asked that several AusHeritage members with relevant conservation and heritage management skills and experience come to Penang, to contribute to a series of heritage related presentations and to discuss with the local WHO unit the appropriate means and skills to manage their site.
The Australia India Heritage Week was held in Jakarta from 11-14 January, 2010. Partners during the week included The Victoria Memorial Museum, Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage, Loreto College and AusHeritage.

The Salzburg Global Seminar is a unique international institution focused on global change — a place dedicated to candid dialogue, fresh thinking, and the search for innovative but practical solutions.
Sixty cultural heritage leaders from thirty-two countries, including representatives from Africa, Asia, the Middle East, South America, Australia, Europe, and North America gathered in October 2009 in Salzburg, Austria, to develop a series of practical recommendations to ensure optimal collections conservation worldwide.

Kolkata: Conservation experts from Australia believe its high time the civic authorities in Kolkata take up preservation of built heritage with all seriousness before it is lost to the onslaught of development.
The Victoria Memorial Museum, Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage, Loreto College and AusHeritage (Australia’s International Network for Cultural Heritage) will be partners for the four day Australia India Heritage Week, Kolkata, January 11-14, 2010.

CHENNAI: Peter Varghese, Australian High Commissioner in India, conferred the Indo-Australian Award for Meritorious Service 2009 on Vinod Daniel, branch head, Australian Museum, and Chairman, Aus-Heritage, at the silver jubilee and award function of the Indo-Australian Association here on Wednesday.

Australian Cultural Heritage Champion Vinod Daniel, to receive Indo- Australian Award for 2009.
Vinod Daniel, Chairman, AusHeritage and Branch Head, Australian Museum, will receive the Indo-Australian Award for 2009 at the Silver Jubilee function of the Indo-Australian Association in Chennai on November 18, 2009. The annual award is given to an individual who has contributed substantially to the bilateral relationship between Australia and India.
